JOHN MOODS

Jonathan Jarzyna aka John Moods ist ein Deutsch-Polnischer Songwriter aus Berlin und Mitgründer der Experimentalband Fenster. Er veröffentlichte 2018 sein Debütalbum „The Essential John Moods“ beim Berliner Label Mansions and Millions, im Jahr 2019 folgte dann die Single „I Wanted You“ samt Musikvideo.

November erscheint sein drittes Album „The Great Design“ bei Mansions and Millions.

- "The EP simultaneously is unsettled and carefree, alternating between tender dreamy soundscapes and relentlessly catchy pop heights. But uniting it all is John’s sharp ear for melody and jubilant explorations, making for some of his strongest work yet." - Under The Radar

- "'Talk To Me' might be the best of the lot, with its faithfully reworked early-Springsteen guitars and studied falsetto." - The FADER naming "Talk To Me" one of 10 songs you need in your life this week

- "...John Moods creates a sonic world that feels light and airy. There’s a hint of that carefree yacht rock influence with some gentle synths." - Abduction Radiation

- "...his alter ego John Moods allows him to explore the pop crooner territory a bit more and his latest single So Sweet So Nice does indeed sound like a forgotten soft pop gem fromt the early 80s." - Nothing But Hope and Passion

- "Smooth and catchy, it’s like a modern version of Hall and Oates but crafted better." - Closed Captioned

Jonathan Jarzyna aka John Moods is a German-Polish songwriter from Berlin and co-founder of the experimental band Fenster. He released his debut album "The Essential John Moods" in 2018 on the Berlin label Mansions and Millions, followed in 2019 by the single "I Wanted You" and a second full length album called "So Sweet So Nice" in 2021 on Mansions and Millions and the Canadian label Arbutus Records. Since the first album's release, he has toured throughout Europe and played shows with bands such as Jonathan Bree, TOPS, Homeshake, Porches and Dagobert.

His style can be described as spiritual-romantic outsider pop - quirky but with a very strong sense of pop, combined with "psychedelic to jazzy folk sound of the late sixties and seventies, to AOR eighties rock" (according to Spex magazine, among others). There are many spiritual and philosophical themes hidden in the lyrics. John Moods has collaborated several times with Canadian singer Sean Nicholas Savage, which resulted in the songs "Take It Home" on his debut album as well as "One Sweet Thing" on Sean Nicholas Savage's album "Screamo". Sean Nicholas Savage also co-produced the song "I Wanted You." In 2019, John Moods toured Europe with Sean as bassist. In the same year, he released the song "Like A Whisper" with Polish artist Better Person. This was followed in 2020 by the single "Deine Welt" with German artist Luis Ake.

In 2020, two of his songs were featured in the HBO series "High Maintenance." In an episode of the series "High Fidelity" on Hulu, a song even ran in the end credits of an episode.

2021 saw the release of the new album called "So Sweet So Nice" alongside a collection of poetry ("Sounds Of A Clown") via Mansions and Millions and the Canadian label Arbutus Records.

In March 2022 John Moods released an EP called „Autoplay“ with demo versions of old and new songs.

On November 11th 2022 he will release his third album „The Great Design“ on Mansions and Millions.
